Haiti Still Needs Our Help... Message from Elisabeth Omilami ~ @eomilami

HFTH 40th Year Celebration
Haiti Plea Banner

Hosea Feed The Hungry is working as hard as we can with our partners in Haiti. There are so many groups doing other things but I know Pastor Freddie Hebron personally and I know his heart.  Pastor Hebron and the Christian Revival Center of Savannah, GA have been our partners for our annual Haiti missions for years.  Pastor Hebron has just returned from Haiti just this last Friday. It was so good to hear his voice today! I have been so very worried about him to no end however because he is fine, his staff and group of Haitian interpreters (that we grew to love in our eight trips to Haiti) are fine as well.

He has been honest with us and the Haiti missions team at Hosea Feed The Hungry. Pastor Hebron had food thousands of pop tarts in a warehouse there. As a matter of fact he was feeding people on the January 11th from the pop tarts! The people of Haiti were starving even before this quake. Then the next day the earthquake came and he continued to do the work he had been called to do.

The mission house was devastated. When the quake hit he was upstairs in the mission house and there were two cooks in the kitchen preparing the evening meal. He didn't know what was happening. He had never experienced an earthquake before but when he felt the shaking and heard their screams he ran to the kitchen and the food that was on the stove shot out like a rocket. He grabbed them and stood on the balcony crying out for the Lord. Pastor Hebron watched and the buildings all around them dropped like toys, even the large hotel right up the street from him. And there were people crushed in those buildings but he and the ladies were spared. Praise be to God.

He believes that this is Gods call to Haiti for repentance. He talked about the rich being the ones that would come to the witch doctors to make a pact with the evil one to keep their riches. We never saw that, there were ceremonies and sacrifices. That God in His divine mercy was giving Haiti a chance to redeem herself for He chastises those He loves. The rich were and are stealing from the poor: access to medicines, food, and housing. God's anger is evident. Supposed he sustained his wrath even longer, the whole island would have disintegrated.

However, we must be strong and Hosea Feed The Hungry will do what we can do. He needs a truck driver, tractor trailer, to drive between Atlanta and Miami with goods that he is sending to Haiti. Pastor Hebron needs money to repair the house so we can come in and do the work we are called to do. He needs prayer.

Let us keep our sense of urgency about this devastation and not go back to life as always being sucked into our own private self served existence. We have an opportunity to do something right now. Pastor Hebron says "where is the church" we have a window open now in Haiti for the gospel to be preached. Let's not miss the chance to share the love of Jesus with the lost. Many are ready to hear the word now.

Pastor Hebron returns to Haiti for two weeks on Monday then back to Savannah to regroup then back to Haiti. We are in a battle for the souls of men. We will not shirk our duty at Hosea Feed The Hungry and we know you won't either.
