Who me? Have have enemies? NO not ME, I think? I don't have any enemies! Do I?

Matthew 22:44 states, “The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.” I love this verse of scripture and quote it often, well the "God will make mine enemies a footstool" part anyhow. Now I don’t know about you but I have often wondered WHO could possibly be my enemy? I mean, I feel I’m charismatic, easy-going and pretty much down to earth so who would want to purposefully harm me or even hate on me? How am I expected to keep my enemies close or protect myself against them if I have no idea as to who they are?

Mean Girls (Music From The Motion Picture) When I let my mind wander and try to define my enemies I imagine the girls from the movie “Mean Girls” - jealous, vindictive, spiteful and blatantly hateful.  Although true to life in some ways (especially now-a-days as a teenager) our enemies just aren’t that obvious.

Needless to say I was so grateful when the Bishop Bronner was able to give some insight on who my enemies were. I’ve taken the time to jot them down for you.

An enemy is…Villain 2

1.       Anyone who prefers to discuss your flaws rather than your future

2.       Anyone who prevents your progress or the God-given goals that you are pursuing. When you've got to accomplish something you have got to get over people who are not supportive of what you're trying to do

3.       Anyone who pulls you away from your family or impedes your relationship with God

4.       Anyone who weakens your passion for your future or your God given dream

5.       Anyone who sifts you away.  Sift means to remove the good; To separate you from your essence or from your purpose from the very thing that gives you joy or that makes you come alive

6.       Anyone who diminishes your influence in your absence

7.       Anyone who or anything that distracts you from fulfilling your God ordained purpose

Most things that are attractive to you are things that are distractions. If it looks good, sounds good. Or makes you feel good it 9 times out of 10 it is a distraction.

8.       Anyone who criticizes you with no intent to help you - “Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain and most fools do.” Dale Carnegie

9.       Anyone who promises to help you but abandons you when you need them

10.   Sometime your enemies are those of your own household and the most dangerous enemy is the one within

Bishop went on to say that if you conquer the enemy within, the enemy on the outside can do you no harm. I took that to mean that sometimes we are our own worst enemy and once we start loving who we are and what we stand for nothing or no one can deter us from our destiny.

Jesus was a perfect man, he had no flaws and never sinned but yet He still had enemies; so what more do you think we will have in our imperfection? Hopefully this listing helps you become better vigilant against your enemies and therefore better prepared to deal with or avoid them.
